He was buried somewhere in Carolinas ( do not know which ) near a battle site.He and wife Sarah McDaniel Dunaway had four boys. John William (b) July 15, 1854 (m) Allice Johnston he died 1934--Samuel Marion (b) March 3, 1858 (m) Elnora E. Grantland ( my grandparents ) he died Sept. 11, 1927. She died > in July 19, 1905 They had 11 kids yikes Thomas Sumter Dunaway (b) Dec 11, 1855 (d) Oct. 26, 1896 in Tex. He > married Lenorah Benson. They had 13 or 14 kids. His widow married Thomas bro, and he helped raise the kids. they had none together. She died 1932 James Henry Dunaway (b) 1861 (d) 1936 in Tx. He just two when Critt killed. Critts widow married Jerry Jones and had dau Mary in 1869. She, Jerry, and Mary buried in Somerville Cem. near me. I will send pictures. P.S. where do you live?
