I'll quote what I have in my notes: "Spartanburg County SC Will Book A:112: Last Will and Testament of Samuel Dunaway of Spartanburg District recorded 21 Oct 1817." "To wife Mary the third part of my estate eccepting two colts which I have given to my grandsons, John & William Dunaway: To my daughter Sarah Dunaway $5 sterling: Rest of my estate to be equally divided between Robert Dunaway, Samuel Dunaway, and Elizabeth Proctor: Robert & Samuel Dunaway executors: Dated 9 May 1810. /s/ Samuel Dunaway (LS). A William Dunaway is mentioned as a grandson in the will of Samuel Dunaway, Sr. in 1817 Spartanburg County SC Will Book A:112. It is not possible to say for sure based on the will, but it appears that his father's name may have been John. I am descended from Samuel, Sr. thru his son, Samuel, Jr.
They are 3rd and 4th g grandfathers. Samuel, Sr's wife was named Mary.

Hi, John and wife and at least a son and maybe both dau. are at Somerville cemetery here in Somerville, Al. It is about a three minute drive from my house. Did you know that the actresss Fay Dunaway is a relative? She is connected to John through several generations., but then ALL us Dunaways are beautiful and famous are we not?Boy Critt missed out on his grandkids. There was a bunch of em.Thomas had 14 I think, Samuel had 11 (dad!s siblings )and John had 3 I think. Henry did not have any. Better Critt than me. I have 2 grandsons and 2 sons.. bye for now. Barbara
