Robert J. Lee, was born in the cornfield next to the house. It was a hot July night, and it was cooler outside, so his mother took a blanket and lay down in the cornfield. Willis I. Lee Jr, her husband, went with her. She awakened in labor and couldn't make it back into the house, so he was born in the cornfield.
